Short walk

Only took a short walk today near my apartment. I'm a little frustrated with my camera because if the weather is just a little cloudy it wants to use the built-in flash. Nevertheless I found a few nice motifs. And with the help of Photoshop the pictures turned out to be acceptable.

My husband and I want to paint our bedroom green. We already painted the living room yellow and the anteroom blue and we are very happy with the results.

Underground station "Erlaaer Straße"

Waiting for a friend of mine at this station of U6 in Vienna, I took the following pictures. By the way, most of the U6 -underground stations are actually above ground because it uses the rails of a former tramway. Erlaaer Straße ("Erlaaer Steet") is in the 23rd district, most of which is very green and suburbian. Waiting there at 3 pm was like waiting for Godot at the end of the world.

Today my youngest sister left for Heidelberg in Germany, where she moved about a year ago. I took my camera with me all the time while we road subways and tramways through the city but the pictures are not that special. I will add them later after a little post-processing.

I have not been posting lately, because I'm preparing for an exam. It's about the medicinal uses of plants and plant chemistry. I took a few pictures at my university but I want to resize them, so at the moment there won't be pictures to this post but maybe I will add some later. O.k. here are some pictures I took out of a 4th floor and closed window at my university. They are merely documentory and not high quality or artistic.

Yesterday my husband and I visited my parents in Altenmarkt/Triesting in Lower Austria. The landscape is very beautiful. Many forests and meadows. Hiking is very nice there. I didn't take landscape pictures because we only stayed for a few hours which we spent mostly talking and eating. ;o) The only drawback is the lack of jobs so almost everybody has to commute to Moedling, Baden, St. Poelten or Vienna. When I started my studies I had to move to Vienna because the commute to Vienna by train took much to much time.

Hot in the City

It is definitely too hot in Vienna today! I would say it has at least 30 C (= 86 F) in the shadow. I won't drag my body outside until it get's a little cooler and then I hope I can take a few pictures. I actually did drag myself out and actually took a lot of pictures! As usual many turned out to be too blurry or just not as I expected but nevertheless there are some good ones too that show me that I'm learning.
